George Cusnarencu introduce o neasteptata deviatie in niste propozitii de tipul celei prin care Valery definea ineptia epicii romanesti: “Marchiza iesi la ora cinci”, dar construieste apoi minutios si consecvent o lume paralela cu prima, revelator expresiv al ei, sau parabola stranie pur si simplu, cateodata. Grotescul, cu functie alegorica, bufona si infricosatoare, capata aici o proliferare definitorie. (Ov. S. Crohmalniceanu)


George Cusnarencu introduces an unexpected deviation in sentences such as the one in which Valery defined the ineptitude of novel narratives (“The marquess went out at five”), but subsequently builds, minutely and consistently, a world parallel to the former, its expressive developer, or sometimes merely a strange parable.
