Protagonistul prozei lui Augustin Buzura penduleaza grav intre infrangere si realizare. El porneste la lupta descoperit, lipsit de protectia iluziilor, lucid, vulnerabil pe toata suprafata anatomiei sale, integral, in trup si suflet. Distanta intre slabiciunea sa si victorie este imensa. Iar tenacitatea lui, pe masura distantei. Prin tema si structura, ea e sisifica. The protagonist of Augustin Buzura's prose sways gravely between defeat and achievement. He goes to war bared, devoid of any protection given by illusion, lucid, vulnerable all over his anatomy, both in his body and soul. The distance between his weakness and triumph is immense, and his tenacity a good match: through theme and structure, it is Sisyphean. Every piece of the road becomes in Buzura's prose an uphill slope to Calvary. (Valeriu Cristea)
